Forest School
Forest School info
During the summer term the Pre-School children are all given the opportunity to attend a 7-week forest school program. These sessions are led by a company called Heart of the Woods based in Cubit Woods in Carbis Bay. All activities link to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework, with a focus on nature based learning, developing life skills, making choices and child-led play and exploration. Children are given opportunities to participate in real-life experiences and encounter wildlife, which will provide inspirational learning opportunities and memories. The toddlers are also given opportunities to join in with forest school activities on-site, linked to our Oasis Growing Project. The Oasis Centre and Ludgvan Academy worked alongside Heart of the Woods to develop our own onsite forest school area and provide training for staff. This gives all children across the age ranges 2years – 12years the opportunity to experience a wide range of forest school activities. This includes opportunities for parents/carers and members of the local community to join the fun!
Please take a look at our Forest School Newsletter to see what we get up to.
