Zoë Curnow

Zoë Curnow - Chairman

Zoë is the General Manager of the Minack Theatre. Zoë also works as a freelance musician performing and teaching double bass and trumpet at schools in Truro and for Cornwall Learning Music. Zoë joined the committee as she feels that it is important for parents to be involved in the management of Oasis, supporting the staff to deliver the best possible childcare for all our children.

In her spare time Zoë enjoys the theatre, reading, music and running.

Lorna Trudgeon

Lorna Trudgeon

Lorna is the Centre Manager and Early Years Professional and has worked at Oasis since 2001. As the Centre Manager Lorna is a member of the committee and works closely with the other committee members to run the setting.

Lorna enjoys spending quality time with her family and watching her son play a wide range of sports.

Juliette George

Juliette George

Juliette is the Deputy Manager at Oasis. Juliette returned to Oasis in 2009 after having a gap year to spend time with her family. Juliette is the staff representative on the committee.

Juliette enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Linda Taylor

Linda Taylor

Linda is married and has 3 children and 1 grandchild who all keep her busy. Linda has volunteered at Oasis since 2010 and has enjoyed helping with trips and making relationships with both the children and staff. After observing the love and care within the setting and how the children learn through play, Linda was inspired to become more involved.

In her spare time Linda enjoys walking, knitting and spending time with her family and friends.

Richard Sargeant

Richard Sargeant

Richard is a retired vet and is the Chairman of Ludgvan Parish Council and a Ludgvan School Governor. Richard joined the committee as he felt that it was important to continue links between the council, school and nursery.

In his spare time Richard enjoys music, art and local history.

Rev Nigel Marns

Rev Nigel Marns

Nigel is the Rector of the Parish. He has been visiting the setting with his puppet Lucy every month for several years to read to the children and the children visit Ludgvan church several times a year for events such as Christingle or to have a picnic in the garden. Nigel was delighted to join the committee as a representative of the community.

In his spare time Nigel enjoys cliff path walking, folk music, the theatre and reading contemporary novels.


Joanne Laity

Jo is Head of Teaching and Learning at Ludgvan School. She also teaches in Year 6 and has been teaching at Ludgvan School for 7 years.

Jo has joined the committee to work together with Oasis for the benefit of the children both at Oasis and School. She also has 2 nieces and a nephew that attends Oasis and wanted to become personally involved in promoting smooth transition for the children and parents from pre-school to school.

In her spare time Jo likes to go running with her dog, skiing, snowboarding and spending time with her family and friends.

Mark Fletcher

Mark Fletcher - Child Protection Officer and Prevent Lead

Mark is a primary school teacher in Redruth and has two young children who both attend the Oasis. He joined the committee to support the setting in providing the best possible child care for local families and to learn more about early years education.

In his spare time, Mark enjoys surfing, swimming and playing hockey. With his family, he can usually be found walking on the beach or searching in the woods for wildlife! He is also a keen musician and enjoys singing with his children.

Sarah McNaughton-James

Sarah McNaughton-James

Sarah works as a financial advisor and has been in the financial services for 15 years.

She grew up in Ludgvan and sees working with the Oasis as a chance to give something back to her community.

Sarah runs with a local athletics club and in her down time relaxes by sewing, knitting and spending time with her family.
